How about becoming a Tory MP, building a duck house in the middle of the pond (a luxury one mind, only the best for YOUR ducks!) and claim the cost on expenses?

As this was our first we decided to go this way, interesting though, our vet wasn't to keen on just a sedative!

We too had our llamas sorted, although our vet did the operation while they were standing up with a sedative and the aid of a local anesthetic in the relevant bits, Operation over in minutes, llamas grazing ten minutes later. much better then all the worry of general anesthetic.

Re: rearranging the late afternoon schedules so all the 2 and 4 leggeds get their food and attention. Some people look at me and wonder why I want the responsibility of animals around ... they obviously don't get it! You can't explain that sort of joy.

I'm so glad you have another cria soon to arrive. Your information in this post is invaluable; one of our 3 llamas is pregnant and soon will return from the breeder. Please post pictures when you cria arrives; your blog is wonderful and I keep checking my Google Reader for your posts.

Hi, Kevin,
I have been looking for a blog just like yours for almost a year. So glad I found you. We have several things in common: small herds (I have 3 girls--one bred, hopefully, and two at end of summer), live on farms, and have relatively new blogs. You live in a part of the world I have always longed to call my own, and have traveled several times to UK (next summer, if breeding goes well). Your post is great, and I look forward to watching your space. (not sure Blogger will let me choose my profile, so I am learningllamas and changingconnections at blogspot.com, as well as learningcurve.edublogs.org, plus another school blog, and am the blog coordinator for Discovery Educator Network's Pennsylvania leadership council blog. So, a busy blogger.
