As this was our first we decided to go this way, interesting though, our vet wasn’t to keen on just a sedative!

We too had our llamas sorted, although our vet did the operation while they were standing up with a sedative and the aid of a local anesthetic in the relevant bits, Operation over in minutes, llamas grazing ten minutes later. much better then all the worry of general anesthetic.

Re: rearranging the late afternoon schedules so all the 2 and 4 leggeds get their food and attention. Some people look at me and wonder why I want the responsibility of animals around … they obviously don’t get it! You can’t explain that sort of joy.

I have been looking for a blog just like yours for almost a year. So glad I found you. We have several things in common: small herds (I have 3 girls–one bred, hopefully, and two at end of summer), live on farms, and have relatively new blogs. You live in a part of the world I have always longed to call my own, and have traveled several times to UK (next summer, if breeding goes well).
